That’s a wrap for the England shows of my Little Weaknesses tour. As tours go it was a rocky but steady ship. From the sold out to the, not so sold out.
The shows were always fun. London was a bit nervy for me because it was the first. The first show is always tough, but I really liked the venue and hopefully will get back there again. Bristol was great, always working on the sound, and once I figured out I needed my microphone turned down I felt much more comfortable. I’m still adjusting to my hearing aids. Monitors often feel unbalanced to me. I can adjust my hearing aids left and right but then my actual balance is off, as I discovered in Liverpool, the wobbliest show I’ve done in a while!

It’s been great to have Henrik along for the ride again. Endless Beatles conversations and talks about life, grieving and kids and generally stuff I don’t get to talk to anyone else about. We worked out we’ve been playing together for 12 years or so now. Up the mountain and down the other side, still hanging out and talking shite. Lovely to hear him sing his songs again too. First Time Flyers brought some sunshine with them to every show. Incredible harmonies and classic country sounds. I felt they were a really good companion to have.
If you came to a show, you’ll know how important they were in creating some really special moments on stage.

Which brings me to you.
If you were one of the many at the sold Bristol show. Or from any of the other dates, thank you so much for coming out. For spending hard earned money and time on me and with me. On all these shows people were so kind in telling me how important my songs were to them, how it helped them through a particular time in their lives, how, without those songs it would have been much harder. It’s easy to forget how important that is when you’re stuck in the hell hole of one way systems, stopping every fifty yards at another traffic light whilst trying to navigate your way through Nottingham to get to the gig, and then out again. But thank you so much for the reminder. Others’ music did that for me, I’m immensely proud that my songs can do.
Thanks again. Hopefully see you all soon. Jx
Sunderland tonight, the final show from the England run. Here are some highlights from my Bristol show the other day. Jx

I met the lovely people at @voltalabsoundstudios before this tour to record a live version of my song ‘Play Opposite’.
It’s an intimate version of the song with the brilliant @northernsessioncollective. Loved doing this one with the strings, and there might be another to come soon too! Jx

A version of my song ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ performed with @iamlaky who co-wrote the song with me.

Maybe you know what the song is about, maybe not. It’s only been out for 8 months, which is still quite young.

I think it’s about friendship, possibly being more than friendship. Any other ideas?

The film is also good, so I’m told, to be absolutely honest with you, I’ve never seen it. Jx
What did my first show in @omearalondon look like?
My name above the door, a nice line of people next to it (a few I was able to meet before things got too busy, thank you for the cards) and of course a night full of music.
Another thank you to everybody that stuck around at the end and spoke to me at the merch stand, @helenda I hope you enjoy your lyric book keepsake.
You all helped make this night special. Jx
